Following Scholarship Guidelines

I am on a committee that awards scholarships annually to qualified high school graduates. It is impressive to see how diligent some students have been throughout school. It gives us joy to award them a scholarship to help them continue. Regretfully many times qualified applicants don’t receive the scholarship because they fail to adhere to following general guidelines.
In order to be a successful recipient of a scholarship, do the following:
1. Be sure that you qualify (GPA, Class Ranking etc.)
2. Be sure to do all that is required for the specific scholarship ( essay, letters of recommendation, school acceptance letter, etc.)
3. Be honest about your accomplishments and goals.
4. Above all, meet the deadlines. Most scholarship awarders will not consider any that are turned in late.
